Larry Veitch was born in Prince Rupert. He grew up in Prince Rupert and Oona River — a small village 30 miles south of Prince Rupert on Porcher Island. He was a mill worker, fisherman and bush pilot on the north coast. He moved to Vancouver in 1979 and flew as a corporate pilot for a large BC forest company for 24 years.
He retired in 2004, designed and built two homes, motorcycled through much of North America then turned his attention to painting after many years of India ink drawings. He is currently enrolled in Kwantlen University's Fine Arts and Writing programs.
